Duke City Gladiators Host Free Youth Football Camp This Weekend 

On Sunday, April 2, the Duke City Gladiators will once again host a free youth football camp at the Rio Rancho Events Center. 

These non-contact, coed camps serve students 5-15 years of age and are open to all skill levels. Ages 10-15 will participate from 9:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. and ages 5-9 will participate from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 

They will be led by former NFL player and New Mexico's Duke City Gladiators who will teach basic football concepts, position specific skills, work on agility, conditioning, speed and strength. 

In addition to helping participants expand their athletic abilities, the camp's curriculum will also focus on encouraging healthy lifestyles, teach leadership skills, and help develop strong character. 

"We are honored to be able to serve young New Mexicans by hosting our 14th free youth football camp," said Duke City Gladiators Owner Gina Prieskorn-Thomas. "We recognize the platform that football gives us and our unique ability to serve as positive mentors and role models for our children.  Our commitment to service and to be community champions is the hallmark of our team. We are grateful to all the partners who have made these camps possible." 

This camp is made possible through partnerships with the City of Albuquerque and other community sponsors. This is the 14th free camp put on by the Duke City Gladiators on the One Albuquerque Field. Collectively, the camps have served over 1,500 youth including nearly 1,000 Albuquerque youth. 

In addition to the free camps, the Duke City Gladiators are actively involved in various community service initiatives including mentorship in public schools, partnerships with local law enforcement, and direct services to New Mexicans struggling to make ends meet.
